Typically, trees used in conventional wood flooring take 30-50 years to regenerate to their full mass. The removal of these trees causes negative environmental effects on both a local and global basis. Bamboo can be continuously re-harvested every 5-7 years for decking, without causing damage to the plant system and surrounding environment. How It's Made
Manufactured from 5-7 year old organically grown moso bamboo forged into an incredibly unique process of compressing and intertwining the fibers, a dense, "fossilized" bamboo block is formed. This fossilized block of bamboo is then milled using precision laser guided machines before the final scratch-resistant curing phase. All Cali Bamboo Decking undergoes a state of the art compression and sealing process, with No Urea Formaldehyde added to its glues, and BamDeck™ even tests well below El indoor environmental emission standards.
